YOUTH NEWS

Church Camp UPDATE:  The last two weeks of our church camp were AWESOME!  And we're totally exhausted.

MORE MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:

1)  July 25-27 is Inner-City Weekend at CCLW.  World Impact Dallas, an organization that exists to serve children that live in the inner-city of the downtown Fair Park and Vickery Meadows areas, will be bringing a group of kids to Christian Camp of the Living Word for a weekend of fun, learning, and sharing.  We invite MATURE Christians from middle school on through adult to come along and join us in serving and ministering to these kids!  The cost is $32, and the opportunity is priceless.  For more information about the ministry weekend, email Mark at markberrier@gmail.com.  For more information on World Impact or the camp, go www.worldimpactdallas.org or to www.cclw-texas.org.

2) July 30-August 3rd C.A.M. (Community Action Ministries) camp

C.A.M. is a local ministry to Norman, OK.  Our church was involved with them last year doing volunteer work in some of the benevolent organizations in and around the Oklahoma City area.  The youth who attended had very positive things to say!  The cost for the week is a voluntary donation of $50, which basically covers food and transportation costs.  For more information, check out:  www.cam-inc.net/cam/camps.

KEEP YOUR EYES AND EARS OPEN FOR A MULTI-CHURCH lock-in in late August!

CHURCH NEWS

Two weeks ago today as I write this, the three men that went to Kenya, Africa for Missions work (Pastor Knox, Gregg Day, and Andy Moore) have returned safely.  They say that this trip was very productive and much better and more effective than previous trips.  God has blessed our congregation greatly with the opportunity to have hands-on impact in World Missions!  Thanks from these men for all of you who prayed, and for those who committed to fast for a day during their trip!  Allen is also quite pleased with AlCom (the Allen Command Center) that was put in his house during his absence.

An Africa trip debriefing took place on June 22nd, where our missionaries shared slides, video, and stories with our congregation about their trip.

Congratulations to Matthew Merriner and Kellie Holland, both of whom were baptized by immersion at our church in the month of June!  God bless you both as your lives and ministries grow under the influence of the Holy Spirit!

Youth meetings are currently taking place from 6-7:30 on Wednesday nights before Men's Bible Study.  We have been creating and filming Biblically-relevant videos and absolutely having a blast so please be sure to bring your Middle- or High-school student to the church on Wednesday nights!
